Shakirullah
Durrani took over as the fifth Governor of the SBP, whose career
in banking started after he joined Lloyds Bank Limited in 1951,
and worked in its branches in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Dacca.
He has also been awarded Sitara-e-Khidmat in 1965, Sitara-e-Quaid-e-Azam
in 1969 & Sitara-e-Pakistan in 1971 for his services in the Army
between 1948 & 1951. He was also the recipient of the Grand Cordon
of the Order of Independence (Class I) by the Hashemite Kingdom
of Jordon.
Born in 1928, Mr. Durrani studied at the Government College, Lahore.
The Indian Military Academy, Dhera Dun, & graduated from the Pakistan
Military Academy, Kakul in 1948. |
