Prior
to becoming the third governor of SBP, Shujahat Ali Hasnie, served
as under Secretary & then as Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Finance,
Govt. of India; Joint Financial Advisor, War & Supply & became a
permanent Joint Secretary, Commerce; Joint Secretary, Commerce,
Secretary, and Ministries of Food & Agriculture & Economic Affairs,
Pakistan. It was on his retirement in October 1958 as Finance Secretary,
that he was appointed as Governor SBP.
It was during his tenure that SBP's new building was inaugurated
by Field Marshal Ayub Khan, on November 4th, 1961.
Born in 1905, Mr. Hasnie did his M.Sc (Hons) from the punjab University
in 1927. |
