The Chief Justice of Supreme Court of Pakistan established a Supreme Court of Pakistan Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand Dams Fund on 10th July, 2018 to raise funds for the construction of Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand Dams. The Honorable Court supervises the Fund and its Registrar operates its account directly. (see SBP Circular)
Later, the Prime Minister of Pakistan announced to join efforts with the Chief Justice of Pakistan for this cause. Accordingly, the fund was renamed as “Prime Minister and Chief Justice of Pakistan Fund for Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand Dam.”

To facilitate the collection of donations within and outside Pakistan, State Bank of Pakistan has made elaborate arrangements providing a variety of channels with the help of banks within and outside the country.(see SBP Circular) All commercial banks, microfinance banks, and field office of SBP Banking Services Corporation have opened the Fund account to receive donations in cash, through cheques, pay order and demand drafts, at all their branches across the country from domestic and international donors. In addition, donations can also be made through digital means such as online transfers, ATM transfers, e-banking and payment cards.
Further, to facilitate donations through payment cards, SBP has directed all issuing and acquiring banks in Pakistan not to charge any service fee including interchange fee, merchant discount rate, and transaction fee on such transactions. (see SBP Circular)
