WEEKLY STATEMENT OF POSITION

In order to reorganize the data reporting to SBP and to remove data redundancies to lessen the reporting burden of banks/DFIs, SBP has decided to revise the format of the Weekly Statement of Position.

The revised format of the Weekly Statement of Position is enclosed herewith and is also available on the SBP website (under BSD Circulars). The banks and DFIs are required to submit the Weekly Statement of Position on the revised format with effect from the week ending on 23rd July 2005. The Statement will be submitted only to this department, as the requirement for the submission to Principal Offices stands rescinded.

It is advised to ensure the submission of the said Weekly Statement of Position within 2 working days following each weekend. For example, the statement for the week ending on 23rd July 2005 will be submitted by 26th July 2005. Further, all the banks and DFIs shall also submit Quarterly Position, in addition to the Weekly Statement of Position on the same format, if the date of quarter-end differs from the date of weekend. However, the Quarterly Position will be submitted within five working days following the quarter-end. The late submission of the statement will attract punitive action under the relevant provisions of the Banking Companies Ordinance, 1962.
