State Bank of Pakistan, the Central Bank of the country, regulates the monetary and credit system of Pakistan and fosters its growth in the best national interest with a view to securing monetary stability and optimum utilization of the country’s productive resources. To further strengthen institutional capacity and as part of Strategic Plan to strengthen HR base in the Museum & Archiving Functions, applications are invited from high caliber, dynamic experienced professionals for the following contractual positions based at Karachi.

 Archive Conservationist


Responsibilities

Examine, analyze, document and treatment of record.
Carry out condition examination of works to be treated.
Assist in the management and maintenance of the laboratory including the preparation of chemical reagents and solutions.

Demonstrate excellence in performing complex conservation treatments

Working knowledge of chemical and material sciences.
Use digital cameras and electronic resources in documenting treatment.
Knowledge of preservation standards for archival matting and housing, for environmental conditions.
Devise conservation strategies based on knowledge of materials, chemical processes, and aesthetic and ethical considerations.
Work effectively and constructively both independently and as part of a team, be attentive and engaged with laboratory activities.


 Eligibility Criteria:



Qualification:

Masters or Bachelors degree (16 years) in Chemistry or equivalent from HEC recognized institutions or from a reputable foreign University.

Age:
Maximum 31 years. Relax-able in case of additional working experience.
 Experience:
3 years post qualification relevant experience.

Archive Lab Assistant


Responsibilities

Undertake the inspection of the material brought in the Archives Department, make assessment and suggest the measures with regard to its treatment, preservation and the storage conditions.
Prepare condition reports and treatment proposals.
Provide appropriate documentation of all work, including photographic records.

Carry out periodic inspection and generate the report accordingly with the regards to the condition of the records and the requirements of the storage in the Department.

Make the entries of the papers/materials coming to the section and hand it back, against the such lists to the concerned sections.
Produce clear and accurate costing and treatment proposals and discuss the details & treatment implications with line manager
Generate an Annual Report for the Paper Conservationist to enlarge upon it for the submission to the Director

Qualification:

Masters or Bachelors degree (16 years) in Chemistry (Organic/Inorganic) or equivalent from HEC recognized institutions or from a reputable foreign University.

Age:
Maximum 31 years. Relax-able incase of additional working experience.
 Experience:
3 years post qualification relevant experience.



Exhibition Developer


Responsibilities

Conceptualization, planning, research, development, writing and execution of all visual and text content. Creating initial design sketches and computer-generated three-dimensional visuals, sometimes building models and prototypes
Coordination and consultation with Curators, Scholars & Specialists for the development of museum display and exhibit content
Review the content material
Conduct research of graphic materials for projects such as images and videos
Develop, write & present ideas of all print & audio visual concepts & graphic content
Review text and visual contents included in graphic panels.
Coordinate and liaise with curator regarding content and implementation
Work with supervisor to plan a long term strategy for displays
Research artists and selecting work
Research, design, fabricate and coordinate displays at the museum
Research, design, fabricate and coordinate publication section which includes quarterly and yearly publishing of Coin Catalogs, brochures, flyers, books etc.
Collaboration with the curator in maintaining the integrity of the collection of artifacts, archival material and displays concerning their selection, conservation, installation and interpretation
In coordination with the Museum Shop Manager; identify, design, and order items to be sold in the gift shop
Redesign outdated permanent display areas, to include interactive elements, bilingual text, and when available audio/visual material. Working on the re-display of some exhibitions, reviewing mistakes, updating ideas and displays
Work with gallery attendants to refine the visitor experience, and to select and critique exhibition media
Liaise with designers, audio visual and animatronics experts, graphic video producers and multimedia specialists, even actors, to create a sensory experience for the visitor
Contribute to programs of events, which aim to encourage broader audiences, including educational events
Contribute to museum/gallery development, especially in the area of visitor service
Attend meetings to discuss the status of current projects and to be briefed on new projects
Ensure deadlines are met

 Eligibility Criteria:

 

Qualification:

Masters or Bachelors degree (16 years) in Graphic Design/Fine Arts/Interior Architecture or equivalent from HEC recognized institutions or from a reputable foreign University.

Age:
Maximum 31 years. Relax-able incase of exceptional qualification or additional working experience
 Experience:
3 years’ post qualification relevant experience


Ability to sketch and/or model 3-D spaces. Ability to design exhibits that utilize audio visual, mechanical and computer elements.

 

Education Officer

Responsibilities

Liaise with schools, organising visits and delivering on-site educational sessions
Identifying key areas for adding value to school visits and developing curriculum resources
Keep up to date with curriculum developments, ensuring that education programmes are relevant to the national curriculum
Facilitate access to the museum collection
Produce booklets, guides and information packs for schools, colleges and general visitors
Coordinate and/or providing teaching, lectures and guided tours
Undertake outreach work, including taking artefacts into the community
Organise practical demonstration, role plays, story-telling sessions and other related activities
Arrange programmes of events to enhance visitor enjoyment and understanding
Work with other museum staff to develop and market the museum and the events programmes
Run holiday activities for children and families
Coordinate teams of interpreters and volunteers
Identify creative ways to ensure the objectives of the museum match the needs of visitors across a range of subject areas
