Statistics & DWH Department of State Bank of Pakistan collects, compiles and disseminates data on internal and external sectors of the economy. Monthly (ITRS) returns of banks are the main source of external sector statistics. Scope, coverage and timelines of ITRS have been enhanced from time to time to cater the needs of stakeholders/authorities.
Recently, the department has embarked upon compiling and disseminating external sector statistics on regional bases. For this purpose, the following two fields have been added in ITRS:
1. Beneficiary bank
2. Beneficiary branch
Banks are now required to submit branch-wise data instead of reporting consolidated transactions of all branches. Banks would continue to submit inward remittance voucher (IRV) to SBP as has been the practice in vogue
Further, in order to improve coverage of imports data, the following three variables are added in Schedule E-2/P-2 of ITRS:
1. Sale terms
2. Bill of Lading / Airway Bill #
3. Bill of Entry #
All banks are advised to report branch-wise data on Schedule J/O-3 through ITRS Client (ver. 4.4.9or above) with parallel submission of branch wise workers’ remittances data in excel format through email for three months starting from November, 2015 which would subsequently be discontinued after successful parallel run of updated version of ITRS Client. Necessary instructions would be issued separately later in this regard. Other instructions on the subject will remain same.
