The Statistics & DWH Department, State Bank of Pakistan
is responsible for collection,
compilation and dissemination of data on domestic and
external sectors of the economy. Of late,
based on the increasing demand from our stakeholders,
we have embarked upon to compile and
disseminate regional statistics on external sector.
Although most of the data on external sector reported
by authorized dealers in foreign exchange
(ADs) through International Transactions Reporting System
(ITRS) have the necessary details
required for regional classification, the information
on branch-wise disbursements of Workers’
Remittances is not reported through ITRS by banks.
In view of the above, it has been decided to collect branch-wise
information on disbursements of
Workers’ Remittances through a separate excel file
in addition to the consolidated information
on workers’ remittances reported through ITRS. You
are therefore, requested to advise relevant
officials of your bank to submit the data on attached
format (in excel) through email with effect
from the month of December, 2013 and onwards on monthly
basis by 15th of the following
month to which it relates.
