Please refer to State Bank’s circular No. DS.MFS.5 (18)/2009-872 dated 22nd May, 2009, under which banks are required to submit monthly Sectoral Balance Sheet (Flow of Funds statement - Annexure A03), Statement of Deposits Distributed by Deposit Holders (Annexure A05) and Statement of Loans Classified by Borrowers (Annexure A07) regularly to Statistics & DWH Department through DAG Portal of SBP.
In this connection meetings were held with all scheduled banks on July 29th & August 2nd 2010 at LRC in State Bank of Pakistan to discuss the issues which banks were facing in submission of the captioned returns by 5th of the next month. During the meeting it was agreed that timelines for submission of the returns will remain 10th of the next month till December 2010 and for the period of January to June 2011 it will be 8th of the next month. However, after June 2011, banks will submit the captioned returns with a lag of 5 days i.e. 5th of the next month to which data relates.
Further, regarding the decision made in quarterly SBP-PBA meeting in February 2007 for banks to establish centralized reporting units with qualified staff at head office as well as at regional level, it was informed that progress made by the banks in this direction is still very low. Representatives from some of the banks informed that statistical reporting is still a low priority and neglected area in their banks. It is reiterated that SBP attaches a huge importance to the quality and timeliness of data reporting therefore expects banks to take positive steps for increasing the efficient and consistent data reporting capabilities.
