Dear Sir,

 

Statements of “Rate of Return on Loans and Deposits” and Loans Classified by Borrowers

 

Please refer to our Circular letter No. DS. BS. 5(1) / 2003 – 3681 & BRD No 2 dated 30th June 2003 & 16th March 1993 and other instructions issued from time by time on the subject. From July 2007, the banks would be required to report sector wise data on “gross disbursements” through monthly statement “Loans classified by borrowers”. The data would be reported through SBP DAG Portal: https://dag.sbp.org.pk. Necessary amendment / revision have been made in the Annexure A07 of Reporting Chart of Accounts Statement in this regard.

2. For the purpose of above mentioned statements, the definition of Gross disbursement is modified to include amount disbursed to the new clients as well as additional amount provided to the existing customers during the reporting period. The renewal and roll-over of existing facilities made during the reporting period will also be treated as disbursement. In case of running finance, the total amount disbursed will be reported as gross disbursement”

3. The deposits in the aforementioned return should includes all type of deposits including:
o all Current and Call deposits of customers and banks (It includes inter-bank deposits)
o all types of fixed, special notice and short term deposits of customers and banks.
o all types of savings deposits of customers and banks.
o all types of foreign currency deposits which should be converted into Pak rupee at the prevalent inter-bank rates as of last day of reporting month.

The following should not be the part of deposits:
o Other demand liabilities including credit balances in the cash credit & overdraft accounts, overdue fixed deposits, unclaimed balances, outstanding bills, payment orders, TTs, MTs, outstanding drafts, drafts payable, demand drafts, hajj deposits, certificate and bills payable, margin on L/Cs and on guarantees, locker key security deposits, unclaimed dividends payable, security deposits accounts, sundry deposits accounts, margin deposits.
o Other time liabilities including employees provident fund accounts, staff pension funds, employees security deposits, staff guarantees fund, insurance funds, credit balance and adjustment accounts, other liabilities payable on demand, margin deposits

4. Other instructions in this regard will remain unchanged. Banks are advised to submit the data of July 2007 under new format by the due date along with revised data of June 2007 under revised definitions / format.
