Attention is invited to the instructions contained in sub-para (vi) para 17 of Chapter XVII of Foreign Exchange Manual (7th Edition, 1992).

2. With a view to further liberalize the foreign exchange activities in the country, it has been decided that amounts of foreign exchange in excess of the limits on payments for invisibles specified in paragraphs 17 to 40 of Chapter XVII of the Foreign Exchange Manual shall be released by the Authorised Dealers, , after prior verification of submitted documentary evidence that demonstrates that the additional amount is needed in order to make a bonafide payment for private, government or business travel abroad, education or medical treatment abroad or other purposes specified in the aforementioned paras under advice to us.
