Dear Sirs,

TRADE POLICY 1995-96 - EXPORT OF CARPETS AS PERSONAL BAGGAGE

Please refer to F.E. Circular No. 39 dated the 6th June, 1987 on the above noted subject.

2. It has since been decided to do away with the maximum monetary limit of Rs. 75,000/- for export of carpets as personal baggage. In terms of Schedule II - Part B Para 14 of the Notification No. SRO. 714(I)/95 dated the 20th July, 1995 issued by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad, visiting Pakistanis or foreign nationals have been allowed to export carpets as personal baggage without any monetary limit against authorization of the Ministry of Commerce, Government of Pakistan, which will be issued on production of foreign exchange encashment certificate from an Authorized Dealer in Pakistan for the value of carpets being taken out/ exported from Pakistan as personal baggage.

3. In view of the general permission given by the Government as envisaged in the preceding paragraph, F.E. Circular referred to / paragraph 1 above is hereby withdrawn.

4. Please bring the above to the notice of your constituents.
