Reference is made to the FX Computerized
Reporting System (FXCRS), provided by the State Bank of
Pakistan to all the Banks/Authorized Dealers for reporting
their daily FX positions. The existing version of FXCRS
has been in use for more than five years. Minor customizations
to the software have been made occasionally during this
period. Now, a major software upgrade is being launched
to replace the existing Microsoft FoxPro-based FXCRS version
with Microsoft Access 2003-based version.
The upgraded version of FXCRS for the
Banks/Authorized Dealers has been developed by the Information
Systems and Technology Department of SBP using Microsoft
Access 2003. While most of the functionality of the upgraded
FXCRS is same, some new features have also been added
to the new software.
The
software installation package along with a user guide
is available at the SBP website on the following link:
http://www.sbp.org.pk/dmmd/software.htm.
The installation package can be downloaded and installed
anytime from May 21, 2008 onwards. There will be a two
week trial period for the IT staff of the Banks/Authorized
Dealers for getting accustomed to the upgraded version
of FXCRS. After passage of this trial period, all the
Banks/Authorized Dealers will be required to report their
daily FX positions on the new Microsoft Access-based FXCRS
starting from Monday June 02, 2008 (Latest position of
Saturday, May 31, 2008). The Banks/Authorized Dealers
are advised against using the previous Microsoft FoxPro-based
FXCRS on or after June 02, 2008 deadline.
