Media Relations Officer (OG-3)

 Key Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities of the incumbent will include, but not limited to, the following: Act as a primary point of contact between the central bank and national, regional, and international media organizations. Proactively identify media opportunities, pitch stories, and facilitate interviews, briefings, and press conferences for senior officials. Maintain and regularly update a comprehensive database of journalists, editors, and media stakeholders. Translate complex economic, financial, and policy documents into clear, accurate Urdu language suitable for media and public dissemination. Prepare background notes, fact sheets, and explanatory materials to support public understanding of the bank’s policies and mandate. Have excellent command on tickers’ extraction, editing press releases/ media briefs and other SBP content. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with editors, reporters, producers, and key opinion makers across print, electronic, and digital media. Proactively pitch SBP’s initiatives, policy measures, and institutional achievements to media outlets with a view to enhancing positive visibility and balanced coverage. Monitor daily media coverage across print, broadcast, and digital platforms, and produce analytical reports for senior management. Plan and manage press conferences, media briefings, and communications following Monetary Policy Committee announcements. Coordinate media arrangements for speeches, major announcements, and high-profile institutional events. Respond to media enquiries in a timely and accurate manner by coordinating internally across SBP departments and subsidiaries to ensure consistency and reliability of information. Arrange capacity building workshops for journalists in major cities of the country, especially where SBPBSC field offices are located by coordinating with business departments, media houses/press clubs and NIBAF to ensure most relevant topics have been chosen. Should have proficiency in content management workflows and editorial planning. Strong experience in digital news platforms including content strategy, content creation and posting. Keep close coordination with PID for successful completion of senior government functionaries’ visits; share content with PID, as and when required. Play key role in crisis communications by reaching out to relevant persons/organizations across print, digital and electronic media in a timely manner and effectively convey SBP's version across various media strands; ensure 24/7 tracking of media in a crisis scenario. Deliver any other tasks as asked by the senior management from time to time.

Education	Bachelor’s or Master's degree (with a minimum of 16 years of education) in Mass Communications, Media Sciences, Journalism, Data Analytics, Finance, Economics or Business Administration from reputable HEC recognized university.
Age	Maximum 40 years, as on the date of advertisement.
Experience	10 years of work experience. Relevant experience in covering the banking sector, financial markets and regulatory authorities will be preferred.
