This refers to BPRD Circular No. 05 dated July 29, 2013, on the cited subject.

2. It has been observed that a number of banks are facing difficulties in implementation of TLS Certificates on their email gateways for different reasons. In order to facilitate industry wide smooth implementation of TLS Certificates, it has been decided to extend the deadline of the proposed implementation from January 31, 2014 to March 31, 2014.

3. All banks/DFIs/Microfinance Banks are advised to take necessary steps to implement TLS Certificate on their email gateways by March 31, 2014, failing which penal action may be invoked against non-compliant banks under relevant provisions of the laws and regulations.

 4. All other instructions on the subject shall remain unchanged.
