Mr. Tawfiq A. Husain, until recently was the Senior Director & Country Manager (Pakistan) of American Express Bank Limited and Director, First International Investment Bank, Pakistan.

Born in Karachi on 6th September, 1953, Mr. Husain brings to his new assignment twenty five years of international banking experience. He joined the American Express Bank in November, 1976 after completing his MBA in Finance & Marketing from the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi. Also holding Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Mathematics from the University of Karachi, he served the American Express Bank in several responsible capacities. He was the first Pakistani to be posted as the Senior Director & General Manager of American Express Bank in the Philippines during 1994-95. He was also the first Pakistani to be appointed as the Country Manager of American Express Bank in Pakistan.

Mr. Husain held honorary positions as President, American Business Council of Pakistan; Member, Board of Governors, Lahore University of Management Sciences and Member, Banking Sub-Committee, Overseas Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Karachi.

Mr. Husain has attended various courses/seminars on technical, business and leadership skills which have proved invaluable in his development as a teamwork-driven and results-oriented manager.
