State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the Central Bank of country, regulates the monetary and credit system of Pakistan and fosters its growth in the best national interest with a view to secure monetary stability and optimum utilization of the country’s productive resources. SBP also promotes research activities and issues various publications covering major economic issues of the country.

Memorial Chair

SBP has partnered with higher education institutions by establishing Memorial Chairs at the following Universities/ institute in the name of its former Governors:

The objective of these Chairs is to enhance the standard of teaching and research in economics, especially in the fields of monetary policy, exchange rate management, capital flows, financial sector stability, and economic growth in the country with a view to bring students at par with state-of-the-art international standards. To achieve this end, SBP seeks applications from renowned academicians/ researchers for the Memorial Chairs. The scholars are expected to enhance the standard of education and prepare students to pursue meaningful research in the aforementioned areas, thereby contributing to their professional growth and excellence. They are also expected to share their professional knowledge and academic excellence with State Bank of Pakistan.


Eligibility Criteria

Qualification
Candidate should have Ph.D in Economics.

Experience
Candidate should have:

• Minimum eight (08) years of teaching/ research experience.
• Minimum eight (08) research publications in reputed national/ international journals. List of journals is available at link (List of Journals).
  A minimum of three (03) papers is also acceptable provided these are published in categories ‘A’ and ‘B’ journals from the given list of journals.’
  
  
  Compensation Package
  
  
• Monthly stipend of Rs.550,000/- (Five Hundred and Fifty Thousand Rupees Only).
• In case of foreign resident, an economy class return airfare will be provided to the selected scholar, spouse, and upto two children to the nearest city of SBP Chair.
• Engagement for the Memorial Chair will be initially for a period of 1-3 years, renewable subject to performance and mutual consent.
