Revised Prudential Regulations for Housing Finance

1. Please refer to IH&SMEFD Circular No. 03 dated April 18, 2017 on Prudential Regulations for Housing Finance and other instructions issued by the State Bank of Pakistan on the subject.


2. Considering the current dynamics of Housing Finance, the State Bank of Pakistan has comprehensively reviewed and updated the Prudential Regulations for Housing Finance. The revised Prudential Regulations shall supersede IH&SMEFD Circular Letter No. 8 of 2019 dated December 18, 2019, IH&SMEFD Circular No. 12 of 2020 dated November 20, 2020, IH&SMEFD Circular No. 13 of 2020 dated November 20, 2020 and IH&SMEFD Circular No. 07 of 2021 dated June 17, 2021.


3. The revised Prudential Regulations for Housing Finance shall be applicable immediately. Banks/DFIs are advised to ensure meticulous compliance with the enclosed revised Prudential Regulations.
