SANCTIONS IMPOSED BY UN SECURITY COUNCIL AGAINST LIBYA

In suppression of the instructions contained in F.E. Circular No. 77 dated the 30^th November, 1993 we enclose a copy of the new guidelines of the UN Sanctions Committee on Libya. In case Authorized Dealers need clarification for deciding any specific case, the same may be referred to us. Such reference shall, interalia, contain the following information:-

1. Whether the entity in question is one in which the Government or Public Authority of Libya or any Libya undertaking is a majority share-holder.
2. In case the Government or Public authorities of Libya or any Libyan undertaking as defined in the resolution is a minority share-holder, whether it exercises effective control.

2. The contents of this circular may please be brought to the notice of your constituents.
