Dear Sirs / Madam,

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT TO HOME TEXTILES AND DYED/PRINTED CLOTH MANUFACTURING UNITS

In terms of Ministry of Textile Industry’s SRO No. 803(I)/2006 dated August 04, 2006, the Government of Pakistan has decided to allow R&D Support to the Home Textiles & Dyed/Printed Cloth Manufacturing-Cum-Exporting Units with effect from July 1, 2006. The said R&D Support shall be provided to Home Textiles and Dyed/Printed Fabrics Manufacturing-Cum-Exporting Units under Chapters 52, 55, 63 & 94 of the Pakistan Customs Tariff at the specified rate of FOB value of exports as mentioned below:

1. Dyed/Printed Fabrics (Under Chapters 52 &55) 3%
2. Home Textiles (Under Chapters 63 & 94)
   1. White 3%
   2. Dyed/Printed 5%

However, all kinds of Towels (unstitched) are not admissible for the said R&D Support.

A copy of the above mentioned SRO, containing eligibility criteria, terms & conditions and procedure for filing claims for R&D support, is being enclosed for strict compliance by the Authorized Dealers.

Authorized Dealers are advised to bring the above to the notice of all their constituents.
