PROCEDURE FOR REFUND OF VALUE OF BANK
NOTES BY THE COMMERCIAL BANKS

As per the discussions of working group constituted by the Governor held with the officials of Pakistan Banks Association (PBA) it has been decided that the commercial banks be allowed to arrange a note exchange facility to their customers and general public.

In order to implement the above decision we forward herewith a procedure for refund of value of banknotes by the commercial banks. Initially as a pilot project only designated branches of the commercial Banks in the Karachi region would provide above facility. The list of the designated branches is attached for your action.
