| All Authorised Dealers in Foreign Exchange Dear Sirs, EXPORT OF SAMPLES Attention of the authorized dealers is invited to paragraph 2(i), chapter XII of the Foreign Exchange Manual (7th Edition, 1992) as amended to date in terms of which exports of bonafide trade samples free of charge by a registered exporter during a calendar year provided the FOB value of such exports does not exceed US$2000/- is exempt from the prescribed export procedure. It has, now, been decided by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of Pakistan vide SRO No. 482(1)2000 dated 11th July 2000, the FOB value does not exceed US$5000/- or equivalent per exporter per annum. Consequently, para 2(i), Chapter XII of Foreign Exchange Manual (7th Edition, 1992) is amended to read as under:- “2(i) bonafide trade samples of articles exported as such by an exporter registered under the Registration (Importers and Exporters) Order, 1952, or who has been exempted from registration thereunder provided the FOB value of samples supplied free of charges does not exceed the limit notified by the Ministry of Commerce from time to time. Leather garment manufacturers are entitled to export 50(fifty) samples in a calendar year irrespective of monetary ceiling”. |
