All Banks/DFIs/Investment Banks/Listed Brokerage Houses

PRIMARY DEALER SELECTION FOR THE YEAR 2006-07.

Applications are invited from interested Banks/DFIs/Investment Banks/Listed Brokerage Houses for appointment as Primary Dealer of Government Securities for the year 2006-07. For this purpose, EDMD Circular No. 11, dated August 27, 2005 regarding rules governing Primary Dealers is referred to. The applicants are requested to furnish the following information along with the application.

1. Latest Annual Report;
2. Summary of month wise Secondary Market Transactions in PIBs/FIBs and MTBs from January 1, 2005 to April 30, 2006;
3. The applicant has to furnish a letter signed by their Head of Treasury explicitly mentioning that applicant is in compliance to the Rules 2 & 3 of Section A (Selection Criteria) of Rules Governing to Primary Dealers.

Applications must reach Exchange and Debt Management Department latest by May 15, 2006. State Bank of Pakistan reserves the right to refuse any application without assigning any reason.
