State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the Central Bank, is looking for talented and energetic candidates for the following position in the Internal Audit and Compliance Department, based at Karachi.


Deputy Director - IT Audit

Key responsibilities of the incumbent will largely include, but not limited to, the following:

Assist the Division Head and Team Lead in annual risk assessment exercise and annual audit plan preparation highlighting key areas of risk and areas of coverage including system development standards, operating procedures, system security, programming controls, network & communication controls, backup and disaster recovery and system maintenance based on the enterprise wide IT audit universe.

Support the Team Lead in identifying risks and controls for processes in each audit engagement and preparation of Audit Programs for documentation of risks and controls design and their testing during the fieldwork stage.

Perform technical assessment of controls for areas like Red Hat Enterprise Linux Systems and Windows Server OS in virtualized environment, SAN Storage and Enterprise Backup Solution, Microsoft Exchange, file server, Patching server, e-mail gateway appliances, proxy appliances, oracle application server & enterprise databases 10g, IBM DB 2, Temenos JBase, Anti- virus solution, Network & telecom (Routers, Switches, Next generation firewalls, IDS/IPS appliances, VPN, ISE, NAC), SIEM solution, SVA solution, SWIFT Infrastructure, Data Centre infrastructure, etc.

Perform assessment of business level application controls in areas like Oracle ERP (General ledger, Account payable, Cash management, etc.), Oracle Custom applications, Core banking Temenos T-24, SWIFT application, IBM BPM/ECM solutions etc.

Use technical tools to perform automated testing of controls through scripting like (VB / power shell scripting and Linux Shell Scripting), PL/ SQL, TOAD, including data analysis through access to applications (Q-Radar, Oracle, Temenos, etc.) and perform off-site/desktop reviews.

Identify irregularities and/ or weaknesses in the internal control design or performance during audit planning and fieldwork stages and suggest improvements.
Perform any other tasks assigned by senior management of the Department.

 Eligibility Criteria:


Masters or Bachelor's Degree (16 years) of education in Information Systems or related field from HEC recognized domestic or reputable foreign university.

Candidates with CISA or related certifications will be preferred.
Age: Maximum 35 years, as on the last date to submit application.

Minimum 6 years of work experience, preferably in a related field.
