FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs) ON ART COMPETITION FOR NEW BANKNOTE SERIES

The art competition is being organized to get novel design ideas from artists or designers on the given themes. At this stage, artists are free to present their ideas without adhering to particular specifications.

No, there is no need for prior registration. Participants can directly submit their entries through courier service to the Director, Finance Department, State Bank of Pakistan, I.I. Chundrigar Road, Karachi.

Yes, the participants can participate in groups.

The dimensions are not specified at this stage, the artists are encouraged to express their artistic work with novel ideas and designs.

Yes, the colours of each banknote denomination should be unique and easily distinguishable based on your own choice.

Yes, the participants are required to design both sides of banknotes of all seven denominations or fewer as per their choice.

No, at this stage, the participants are required to submit banknote designs only.

The design of each banknote should be submitted in hard form on A4 size white paper.

The participants are at liberty to use any of their artistic or designer expertise to make the design entries for the competition.

The participants may develop designs on the themes, including but not limited to, social and cultural identities, demographic diversity, climate change and environmental protection, economic development, natural landscapes, architectural heritage, and national symbols. The participants are expected to come up with novel designs and ideas.

The participants can share the design of all seven (07) existing denominations or fewer denominations based on their choice.

The participants can use different themes for different denominations, or they can also use the same theme for different denominations (for e.g., a different national symbol theme can be used for different denominations).

The first, second and third designs of each denomination will be given the prizes of Rs.1,000,000/-, Rs.500,000/- and Rs.300,000/- respectively. Thus, in total, 21 prizes can be awarded in the art competition.

The designs should be sent in hard form through courier service to the Director, Finance Department, State Bank of Pakistan, I.I. Chundrigar Road, Karachi.

No, the designers are not required to submit a soft copy of their designs.
