Statistics & DWH Department of State Bank Pakistan collects and compiles branch level half yearly banking statistics through e-mails on regular basis vide Circular No.DS.BS.2 (1) / 2010-606 dated 10th May 2010 (for banks) and Circular No. DS. BS. 2 (1) / 000061-18 (for DFIs/MFBs). To enhance the reporting and compilation system through Data Warehouse, new formats have been designed for these returns. The revamped system will require submission of data on DAP instead of the previous practice of data submission through emails. Previous Foxpro-based system will be discontinued and the new data will be prepared using an excel-based client through Data Warehouse. Furthermore, classification of private sector business has been improved by implementing the new version of ISIC (ISIC 4.0) for sectoral classification of loans and deposits. Therefore, reporting institutions will be required to submit data for at least 2 half years (Dec’18 and June’19) on parallel basis i.e. submission of data on both new and old formats. Later on, the old system will be discontinued.

SBP has already conducted orientation sessions of all reporting institutions in which relevant reporting officers were invited and briefed about this new system. They were also advised to enhance their systems for the new code lists.

Please note that the deadline for submission of data on DAP for December’18 is 30th June 2019 and that of June’19 will be 15 October 2019. However, the timelines for submission of data on previous format will remain unchanged. The reporting institutions are advised to ensure compliance of the above in letter and spirit and strictly adhere to the timeframe.
