Assistant
Librarians (OG-2) – Central Library |
Key responsibilities of the incumbent may include,
but not limited to, the following:
|
Provide assistance
in procurement of bibliographic items through
purchase, subscription, gift, or exchange
arrangements, which ever feasible; |
|
Perform technical processing
of the acquired materials involving accessioning,
classification, cataloguing, indexing, bar
coding, spinning and security tagging, etc.; |
|
Support the weeding process
by periodic reporting of out-dated, mutilated,
and worn-out materials; |
|
Maintain accurate, systematic
and tidy display of Library holdings for
instant retrieval when needed; |
|
Entertain reference queries
of both walk-in and remote library users
through available communication channels; |
|
Provide assistance in literature
searching; |
|
Deal membership affairs including
scrutiny of application forms, surety confirmation,
issuing membership cards, and updating member’s
database; |
|
Perform circulation operations
involving visitor’s registration,
charging/discharging of materials, reservation
of materials, recall/renewal of loaned materials,
and issuing reminder notices for overdue
materials, etc. |

Librarian (OG-2) – Legal Services Department |
Key responsibilities of the incumbent may
include, but not limited to, the following |
|
Provide technical
& administrative assistance in procurement
of legal information resources including
books, journals, and electronic databases; |
|
Classify, catalogue, and index
legal information resources; |
|
Maintain currency of law resources
by filing legal amendments to relevant folders
immediately upon notification; |
|
Maintain scanned record of
legal opinions on the SBP intranet; |
|
Maintain efficient information
storage and retrieval system; |
|
Provide reference assistance
to users of LSD Library. |

Min. 2 years post-qualification
relevant experience in reputable organizations. |
Education
Requirements: |
Masters or bachelors with sixteen (minimum
16) years of education in Library &
Information Science from HEC recognized
university or equivalent from a reputable
foreign institute. |
Age: |
Maximum 28 Years as on deadline of application.
Relaxation may be allowed in case of highly
qualified or more experienced candidates. |
