State Bank of Pakistan, the Central Bank, regulates the monetary and credit system of Pakistan and fosters its growth in the best national interest with a view to securing monetary stability and optimum utilization of country’s productive resources.

To further strengthen institutional capacity and as part of Strategic Plan to strengthen HR base, SBP invites applications from talented, self-motivated, result oriented and energetic software engineers for following Karachi based positions. Contractual positions are for an initial 2-year period, which may be further extended subject to business need and satisfactory performance of the incumbent. The software development positions listed below cover a diverse cross-section of business-side vertical functions and a horizontal spread of software systems such as Temenos T24 core banking solution, Oracle E-Business Suite (ERP), Custom Built OLTP Applications, IBM Business Process Management solution, IBM Enterprise Content Management solution, and Data Warehouse.

Prospective candidates are required to possess:
a) Excellent interpersonal, as well as verbal and written communication skills.
b) Ability to liaison and coordinate with business-side stakeholders, customers & end-users to understand and document existing business processes and automation requirements.
c) Ability to transform business requirements into technical solution proposals.
d) Experience of developing enterprise level, web enabled solutions to automate business processes, operations and workflows in various business domains utilizing various software tools, technologies, databases and systems integration solutions.
e) Exposure to Agile Scrum project management methodologies.
f) Patience to learn and subsequently provide technical support on operational systems.
g) Skills to write and maintain technical documentation and end-user manuals.
h) Skills to train to end-users and technical team members as and when required.
i) Ability to engage with relevant technical teams to perform tasks such as technical configuration, performance tuning, software quality assurance, build, manage and upgrade cyber security controls, diagnose technical issues and perform troubleshooting.
j) Passion to acquire knowledge, skills, expertise and certifications to keep abreast with the ongoing evolution in software technology.


 Software Developer (Contractual)


 Key responsibilities of the incumbent will include, but not limited to, the following:

Software development, maintenance and upgrades utilizing any of the following technologies: Microsoft Dot.Net Framework, SQL, PL/SQL, Java, PHP, Python, Oracle Forms & Reports, Oracle SQL Loader, JavaScript, XML, HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript, jQuery, etc.
Configure & test application security parameters

 Eligibility Criteria:



Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification industry experience.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience of software development in any of the following areas: Temenos T24, Oracle EBS (ERP), Web Application Development, Data Warehousing, Business Analytics, and Data Sciences.

Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (with a minimum of 16 years of education) Computer Science / Software Engineering / Information Systems / Computer Systems / Computer Engineering / Electronics from HEC recognized domestic or foreign institutions.
 Certification:
Preference will be given to candidates with project management certification and/or software development related certifications.

 Age: Maximum 38 Years. May be relaxed in case of additional relevant experience

 Software Engineer (OG-3)


This is a mid-level, hands-on software development position where key responsibilities of the incumbent will include, but not limited to, the following:

Perform gap analysis to evaluate & recommend changes on business or application side
Design, evaluate, propose solution architectures including data flow, process flow, data entry forms, reports, dashboards, analytics, etc.
Designing data architecture in RDBMS such as Oracle, SQL Server and/or DB2.

Business application software development and maintenance utilizing tool & technologies such as: Database designers, SQL, PL/SQL, Microsoft Dot.Net platform, Oracle APEX, Oracle Forms & Reports, Oracle SQL Loader, Java, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, XML, Python, R-Programming language, HTML5, CSS3, and other web application design & development techniques.

Perform software testing such as unit, UAT, integration, system, load & stress.
Thoroughly analyze the impact of proposed changes and enhancements on operational systems.
Manage technical meta-data and maintain the library of documents including ERDs, ETL diagrams, DFDs, source-to-target mappings, etc.
Performing Software Quality Assurance
Participate in DR and BCP exercises.

 Eligibility Criteria:

Minimum of 8 years of post-qualification industry experience.

Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (with a minimum of 16 years of education) Computer Science / Software Engineering / Information Systems / Computer Systems / Computer Engineering / Electronics from HEC recognized domestic or foreign institutions.

 Age: Maximum 39 Years. May be relaxed in case of additional relevant experience.

Quality Control Engineer (OG-3)


This is a mid-level position for individuals specializing in software quality assurance, business analysis, and technical writing skills. The key responsibilities of the incumbent will include, but not limited to, the following:

Analyze existing business processes and propose automation solutions through reengineering.
Document & build diagrams of business workflows, develop business requirement specifications
Convert business requirements into technical specifications and solution design documents
Formulate project milestones, phases and elements based on technical solution design
Coordinate with internal teams to incorporate their feedback into technical specifications
Perform reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports
Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
Using open source tools, design and build test scripts for subsequent execution on the newly developed systems
Track bugs from initial identification stage to final resolution stage utilizing open source tools.
Perform thorough regression testing
Facilitate the preparation of training materials, presentations and FAQs etc.
Configure & test application security parameters.
Coordinate and facilitate the resolution of compliance issues raised by various functions and departments of the Bank including audit, risk management, cybersecurity, strategic planning and corporate secretary.

 Eligibility Criteria:

 

Experience:

Minimum of 8 years of post-qualification industry experience.

Experience of business application software development and maintenance utilizing any of the following tools & technologies: Database designers, SQL, PL/SQL, Microsoft Dot.Net platform, Oracle APEX, Oracle Forms & Reports, Oracle SQL Loader, Java, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, XML, Python, HTML5, CSS3, and other web application design & development techniques.

Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (with a minimum of 16 years of education) Computer Science / Software Engineering / Information Systems / Computer Systems / Computer Engineering / Electronics from HEC recognized domestic or foreign institutions.

Certification:
Preference will be given to candidates with quality assurance certification and/or business analysis related certifications.

 Age: Maximum 39 Years. May be relaxed in case of additional relevant experience.

 

Junior Software Engineer (OG-2)


This is an entry-level, hands-on software development position where key responsibilities of the incumbent will include, but not limited to, the following:

Business application software development and maintenance utilizing tool & technologies such as: Database designers, SQL, PL/SQL, Microsoft Dot.Net platform, Oracle APEX, Oracle Forms & Reports, Oracle SQL Loader, Java, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, XML, Python, HTML5, CSS3, and other web application design & development techniques.

Perform software testing such as unit, UAT, integration, and system.
Prepare training materials, presentations and FAQs etc.
Coordinate and resolve all integration and interfaces related issues
Configure & test application security parameters

 Eligibility Criteria:

 

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification industry experience.

Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (with a minimum of 16 years of education) Computer Science / Software Engineering / Information Systems / Computer Systems / Computer Engineering / Electronics from HEC recognized domestic or foreign institutions.

Certification:
Preference will be given to candidates with project management certification and/or software development related certifications.
 Age: Maximum 30 Years. May be relaxed in case of additional relevant experience
