Amendment in Prudential Regulations for Agriculture Financing - Regulation-R-7
Credit Analysis and Other Conditions
Please refer to AC&MFD Circular No. 01 of 2014 dated January 29, 2014 whereby SBP had issued the revised Prudential Regulations for Agriculture financing and its subsequent amendments.
2. In order to enhance flow of agriculture financing the banks/DFIs are allowed to obtain CIB/Credit Bureau Report from electronic Credit Information Bureau (eCIB) of State Bank of Pakistan or any credit bureau licensed by SBP of which they are a member.
Therefore, following amendment in Prudential Regulations for Agriculture Financing has been made:
Regulation-R-7: Credit Analysis and Other Conditions
- Credit Report
While considering proposals for any exposure (including renewal, enhancement and rescheduling/restructuring), Banks/DFIs shall give due weightage to the credit report relating to the borrower and his group obtained from electronic Credit Information Bureau (eCIB) of State Bank of Pakistan or any credit bureau licensed by SBP of which they are a member. If Banks/DFIs decide to take exposure on defaulters, they shall strictly follow their risk management policies and credit approval criteria and properly record reasons and justifications in the approval form. Further, Banks/DFIs shall ensure that CIB/Credit Bureau Report is not older than three months at the time of approval of credit limits.
3. All other instructions on the subject shall remain unchanged.
4. Banks/DFIs are advised to ensure dissemination of these regulations among their branches/field offices.
