As per tradition of State Bank of Pakistan Museum, an exhibition arranged to celebrate the 144th Birth anniversary of our Quaid, Muhammad Ali Jinnah. This year's exhibition is unique in the sense that we are displaying photographs from the personal collection of one of the most talented photographers and documentary makers of Pakistan Agha Ziauddin Barni, who had the honor to accompany the Quaid-e-Azam on his official tours before and after partition.
He also filmed and photographed the funeral and last rites of Quaid. The original source of archival material is most important in the field of Museums. We are fortunate to have this collection from one single source i.e. his family, his daughters and granddaughter. Who offered for the display of this rare collection of photographs lying with the family.
The personal belongings of Mr.Barni are also part of this exhibition.
Barni's sudden death in 1980 left many things unattended but his sense of storage of photos carefully and professionally is quite evident from his collection.
The State Bank Museum, Archives & Art Gallery is thankful to the family of Mr.Agha Ziauddin Barni (Z.D.Barni) for their generous support for the exhibition.
