State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the Central Bank, is looking for a senior statistician for the following position of an Additional Director
(OG-6) in Core Statistics Department. The position is based in Karachi.

 

Additional Director - Monetary and Banking Statistics


Additional Director will be reporting to the Director - Core Statistics Department and will be responsible to:

  • Lead the team responsible for production of Monetary, Financial, and Banking statistics and ensure implementation of relevant international manuals and guidelines on Financial Soundness Indicators (FSIs), Monetary and Financial Statistics, Financial Access Survey (FAS), and Prudential Structural Islamic Financial Indicators (PSIFIs).
  • Supervise compilation of data on FSIs/PSIFIs on deposit takers, other financial corporations, as well as non-financial corporations. Also supervise compilation of FAS, and various Monetary Aggregates, including Reserve Money and Broad Money Supply.
  • Supervise compilation of Surveys on depository corporations, other depository corporations, other financial corporations, and central bank as per Monetary and Financial Statistics Manual and Compilation Guide. Also supervise preparation of mandatory audited monetary data for national and international stakeholders in line with SBP published annual financial statements.
  • Supervise compilation of data regarding Deposits Distributed by Category of Deposit Holders, Loans Classified by Borrowers according to the latest International Standard Industrial Classification. Also, supervise the collection, validation, compilation of monthly Weighted Average Lending & Deposit Rates of scheduled banks, DFIs, MFBs and compilation of Structure of Interest Rates.
  • Supervise compilation of quarterly scheduled banks / DFIs / MFBs advances, bills, deposits, investments, assets / liabilities, and number of bank accounts. Also supervise preparation of quarterly statistical publication on ‘Statistics on Scheduled Banks, DFIs and MFBs in Pakistan’.
  • Lead departmental development projects as per approved annual business plan under ongoing SBP Strategic Plan FY24-28.

 Eligibility Criteria:


Education:

Master's or Bachelor's degree (with a minimum of 16 years of education) in Statistics, Actuarial Sciences and Data Sciences from an HEC recognized university or reputable foreign institutions.

Age: Maximum 48 years, as on the date of advertisement.
Experience:

At least 15 years of experience in related field of which at least 4 years in a middle management position.
