I have managed to make cotton fabric facemask with my daughter's old uniform. This is hand sewed. No machine used. During lockdown I could not find tightly weaved pure cotton at home so I thought to cut out the fabric from her school uniform. Since most of the the YouTube videos recommended filter pocket masks so I made the back of the mask with filter opening. One can easily place non-woven filter or surgical mask inside this pocket for longer use. it gives relatively more protection against the virus. Also, the back of the face mask is white and the front is Navy blue. This was purposefully done so the user of the mask would not wear it frontside back, since the front side has more germs due to the exposure.
I also managed to make ear guards to accompany with facemasks. They protect the back of the ears and prevent the sweat rashes that appear due to extended use. Used felt and buttons.
