71st Independence Day anniversary of Pakistan was celebrated across the country with traditional patriotic fervor on 14th August 2018. To mark the day at State Bank, a ‘Flag Hoisting Ceremony’ was held in front of SBP Museum, SBP Head Office, Karachi at 9 am. Governor State Bank, Mr. Tariq Bajwa graced the occasion as a chief guest.

The celebrations kicked off with recitation of Holy Quran followed by national anthem and tree plantation at SBP Karachi premises. Later, Governor State Bank hoisted the national flag at 9:00 am amidst thunderous applause followed by his address.

After his inaugural speech, Mr. Tariq Bajwa inaugurated the special exhibition at Museum & Art Gallery organized by the State Bank Museum & Art Gallery. Governor SBP along with other officials also cut the independence cake to conclude the ceremony.

In addition to celebrations at SBP Head Office Karachi, variety of programs including open house sessions and stalls were also arranged at SBP BSC offices in Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and Quetta that were part of SBP’s 70th anniversary celebrations. Families and relatives of SBP employees attended the events.
