Statistics & DWH Department, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) is collecting, compiling and disseminating data of Scheduled Banks since late fifties. The branch level data is collected on half yearly basis as per our revised Circular NO.DS.BS.2 (1) / 2010-606 dated 10 May 2010.
The branch level data on deposits and advances is disseminated on consolidated basis as place of disbursement for advances can be different from the place of its utilization. Classifying advances disbursed by banks on regional basis can therefore result in misleading conclusions. However, in the recent past, the demand for the regional data on deposits and advances has increased significantly. To avoid any misleading results, the regional data on disbursements would be supplemented by the information on place of utilization as significant portion of the total disbursements is utilized in places other than the place of disbursements. For this purpose, it has been decided to collect the half yearly branch level regional data on advances (Place & Amount of Utilizations and Disbursements) from all scheduled banks regularly on half yearly basis w.e.f. June 2010 and onwards. The error free data on Outstanding Advances Position as at the end of each half year and Gross Disbursement, during the half year (as per attached Performa - I & II) would be reported by 31st July and 31st January respectively for the half year end at June and December.
