The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has been conducting the Bank Lending Survey (BLS) at a quarterly frequency to obtain the views of senior banking officials. The survey provides information to SBP regarding the current and expected credit conditions and major factors affecting these conditions, as perceived by the officials involved in lending activities of banks. It covers both present views, on demand and supply of credit and cost of borrowing, as well as the future outlook. The survey is conducted with all the major domestic and foreign commercial banks of the country.
