Release
of Private Travel Exchange Quota (PTEQ)
In terms of the instructions contained in Para 18, Chapter
XVII of the Foreign Exchange Manual (8th Edition –2002)
the Authorised Dealers are allowed to release to Pakistan
nationals resident in Pakistan, Private Travel Exchange
Quota (PTEQ) of US$ 25/- per head (irrespective of age)
on each visit to India. Further Zaireen nominated by the
Federal Ministry of Religious Affairs to visit Muslim Shrines
in India are eligible to draw exchange quota @ US$ 10/-
per day per head on production of a copy of the nomination
letter issued by the aforesaid Ministry. Zaireen proceeding
to Ajmer for participation in the Urs of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin
Chishti (R.A) are also allowed a further sum of US$ 25/-
per head in addition to US$ 10/- per day per head to cover
travel cost from Delhi to Ajmer and back.
In
order to facilitate the passengers travelling from Pakistan
to India, it has been decided that henceforth Authorized
Dealers may issue PTEQ to the passengers travelling to India
as per procedure laid down in Para 17 Chapter XVII of the
Foreign Exchange Manual (8th Edition –2002) i.e. US$
50/- per day subject to a maximum of US$ 2100/- per calendar
year.
The
following amendments have accordingly been made in the Foreign
Exchange Manual (8th Edition – 2002):-
i)
Para 17 (i) Chapter XVII
The word “India” appearing in the aforesaid
Para stands deleted.
ii)
Para 18 Chapter XVII
The
words “India and” appearing in the heading and
“(a) US$ 25/- per head (irrespective of age) on each
visit to India and (b)” appearing in the 2nd line
of the aforesaid Para stand deleted
Further the Para 18 (ii) has been deleted in its entirety.
Please
bring the above to the notice of your constituents.
