Dear Sirs,

ISSUANCE OF FORM ‘E’ CERTIFICATES

Attention is Invited to paragrapb.27 Chapter XII of Exchange Control Manual, 6tb Edition, 1987 in terms of which Carrier Companies have been permitted to accept payment of freight in Rupees on cargo shipped on C&F or CIF basis provided the exporter produces to them a certificate from an Authorised Dealer in the form given in the said paragraph.

2. Of late it has been noticed that the Authorized Dealers have adopted the practice of issuing the Form 'El Certificates on plain papers instead of issuing the same on their letter heads, This practice of issuing Form W Certificates on plain paper has been taken a serious note of.

3, Authorized Dealers are advised to ensure that in future Form ‘E’ Certificates are issued by them only on their letter heads under proper stamp and signature of an authorized officer indicating his name and attorney number.

4. Airlines/Shipping Companies are also advised in their own interest to ensure that Form "E" Certificates accepted by them from the exporters and submitted to the Control along with their freight manifests are on the letter heads of the banks concerned and bear proper stamp and signature thereon., Form 1V Certificates on plain papers will 'not be accepted henceforth by the Control and freight collections against such irregular certificates will not qualify for remittance.
