The goal of Information Systems & Technology Department (ISTD) is to provide robust, secure and cost effective IT services and advice to SBP and its subsidiaries to support SBP mission and vision. ISTD strives to manage Business User demand for the trouble free delivery of SBP IT Systems including Globus, Oracle ERP, Oracle in-house developed systems, Data Warehouse, RTGS, SWIFT, eCIB, and other systems being supported by ISTD. ISTD is focusing on solutions that intend to reduce operating costs, improve end-user performance, and meet overall organizational business goals. The business strategy of ISTD is to maintain and augment the infrastructural foundation of automation across the SBP, SBP-BSC and its offices and also provide value added services to the State Bank and its Subsidiaries.
The objective of ISTD is to provide extensive support to the SBP departments and SBP-BSC and its offices so that they would be equipped enough to seamlessly achieve overall corporate objectives. This would also include concentration on more emerging needs like information and infrastructure security, network enhancement, effective automation controls, standardization of business procedures, effectively streamlined support services, bank-wide IT policies formulation, business continuity and disaster recovery planning, Internet monitoring and vigilance, database optimization and documentation, software applications for facilitation of financial industry at the national level and specialized advanced and refresher trainings for both technical and business users.
Stakeholders of ISTD include SBP Departments, SBP BSC and SBP-BSC Offices, NIBAF Campuses and external customers, as ISTD provides technical support and coordination for eCIB, RTGS, FBR and Data Warehouse to Banks and other financial institutions.
Services provided by ISTD include Software (Core & Customized applications, Off-the-shelf software products and other business requirements for software), Infrastructure (Network connectivity, Uninterrupted Power, Access to system, Email, Internet, Central File Storage), Support (Desktop, Applications and infrastructural support, On-Site, Telephonic and through remote administration tools), Desktop (PCs, laptops, Printers, Scanners, USB Drives, Others), andTraining (Countrywide trainings to ensure best use of IT).
ISTD also secures the banks networks and servers from internal and external threats, assesses, plans and ensures that infrastructure upgrades (including power) are in place, and optimizes the network infrastructure to keep pace with changing technology and available services.
