Dear Sirs/Madam,

APPEALS TO GOVERNOR STATE BANK OF PAKISTAN AGAINST THE
DECISION OF BANKING MOHTASIB PAKISTAN

Please refer to Section 82E (4) of the Banking Companies Ordinance, 1962 regarding filing of appeals to Governor SBP against the decision of Banking Mohtasib Pakistan.

2. In order to streamline the procedure of filing the Appeals all the Banks are advised to file their appeals to the Governor SBP, through their centralized Legal Department under the signatures of the Presidents/Chief Executives of the Banks or their duly authorized officers not below the rank of Senior Executive Vice President/Group Head.

3. It is also advised to file the appeal within stipulated time of 30 days from the date of impugned order, in a professional manner and on the format of Appeals as filed in Civil Courts.

4. It is also advised to annex the following minimum set of documents while lodging an appeal:


i. Three sets of appeal.
ii. Copy of the Impugned order.
iii. Documents furnished by the bank before Banking Mohtasib Pakistan.
iv. Copies of impugned instruments, if any.
v. Enquiry Reports of the scam, if available.
vi. Copies of AOF of the account holder(s) involved in the case, if any.
vii. Statement of Accounts, if disputed.
viii. Any other document/evidence on which the bank wants to rely.
