State Bank of Pakistan regulates the monetary and credit system of the country and fosters its growth in the best national interest with a view to securing monetary stability and optimum utilization of the country's productive resources. In order to further strengthen the Bank's legal function, applications are invited from high calibre and dynamic professionals for the following challenging position on contractual basis, based at Karachi.

Chief Legal Advisor

Key responsibilities of the incumbent will include, but not limited to, the following:

	Lead the Legal Services Department to ensure smooth and timely delivery of services to the stakeholders.
	Finalize draft of new legislations, amendments, policies etc. concerning business related activities of SBP & its subsidiaries.
	Provide legal support to deal with the issues of SBP and its subsidiaries vis-a-vis matters of banking industry and of national importance.
	Coordinate with various stakeholders to project SBP's views and safeguard its interests against any legal implication.
	Examine and vet legal documents of contracts, agreements etc. of Bank and provide comprehensive legal advice.
	Monitor compliance with statutory obligations and advise senior management accordingly.
	Supervise/Coordinate/Follow up with external legal counsels for protecting SBP and its subsidiaries interests in various legal cases in different courts of law.
	Coordinate with external Law Firms to seek independent views on various legal cases.
	Represent SBP/SBP(BSC) in Standing Committees of Parliament and Senate as and when required.
	Provide timely, sound and well thought out researched legal advice on issues related to SBP and its subsidiaries in the following broad areas: Litigation(Civil/Criminal/ Constitutional) Judicial or Regulatory functions Drafting of Legislation Banking, Commercial and Corporate Issues Drafting and review of Contracts Service matters

Compensation

Competitive market based salary package commensurate with the experience and qualification of the candidate. Other terms and conditions as per contract agreement.
