State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the Central Bank, regulates the monetary and credit system of the country and fosters its growth in the best national interest with a view to secure monetary stability and optimum utilization of the country’s productive resources. As a part of Corporate Social Responsibility and to preserve the coinage history of country, SBP maintains a state-of-the-art Museum & Art Gallery. In order to make it an interactive and knowledge institution, the capacity building of Museum & Art Gallery Department is being strengthened. In this regard, applications are invited from high calibre and dynamic professionals for the following contractual positions on market based compensation, based at Karachi.

1. Senior Archivist

Key responsibilities of the incumbent will include, but not limited to, the following:

Evaluate records for preservation and retention - some may be fragile and need careful handling, repair or conservation.
Arrange the acquisition and retrieval of records and liaising with donors and depositors of archives, both internal and external to the organization.
Manage and monitor backups, restore and recovery of databases. 
Manage the record-keeping systems and procedures for archival research, retention or destruction of records.
Catalogue collections, managing information and records.
Arrange to respond the personal, telephone, email and written enquiries from all stakeholders.
Facilitate remote access by maintaining user-friendly and computer-aided search systems.
Arrange and manage affairs related to exhibitions, talks and visits.
Arrange to produce informative materials for teaching and training.
Conduct and facilitate training sessions on archival procedures.
Bid for funds and managing section budgets.
Work out and research to identifying various options to protect and preserve collections.

Eligibility Criteria
Qualification: Masters or Bachelors Degree(16 years) in Archaelogy/History/Library Science or equivalent from HEC recognized institution.
Age: Maximum 45 Years, relaxable in case the candidate possesses exceptional qualification and experience.
Experience: At least ten (10) years archival experience in well established Archives Department or established Museum. The candidate should preferably have published research papers in reputed journals.


2. Curator

Key responsibilities of the incumbent will include, but not limited to, the following:

Oversee the exhibition planning at all levels including acquisition, research, publication of catalogues and brochures etc.
Trace the provenance of the objects in the museum and authenticate, evaluate and categorize objects.
Conduct research based on the museum’s collection and interpret the same for various events. 
Plan different thematic exhibitions and plan collaborative programs with other institutions.
Organize exhibitions of educational and scholarly value.
Expand the range of the collection and its exhibition strategies.
Supervise to produce the scale models and working drawings for installations.
Determine appropriate fabrication material, mounts, security, lights level, furniture, equipments and climate conditions for each exhibition gallery.
Supervise in organizing galleries for exhibitions; including painting & minor construction, production of label copy and graphic look after all aspects of the exhibition schedule.
Archival matting, hanging & framing of works on paper, provide backing on paintings, mounting hardware and some minor conversation work.
Facilitate in management of physical storage and daily maintenance of collections and exhibitions.
Assist in monitoring exhibits budget, preparation of purchase orders; perform general exhibition work, and installation of audio/ visual equipments for exhibition.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification: Masters or Bachelors Degree (16 years) in Archaeology/History/Numismatics or equivalent from HEC recognized institution. Preference will be given to candidates having M.Phil. or Ph.D. in the related discipline.
Age: Maximum 40 years, relaxable in case the candidate posseses exceptional qualification and experience.
Experience: At least six (06) years of curatorial experience in well established museum/research institution.


3. Archive Assistant

Key responsibilities of the incumbent will include, but not limited to, the following:

Collaborate with the curator to maintain the integrity of artifacts collection, archival material and displays concerning their selection, conservation, installation and interpretation.
Respond to enquiries/research requests for information about the Museum’s collections from private and commercial enquirers.
Developing and maintain archives inventory data base. 

Eligibility Criteria
Qualification: Masters or Bachelors Degree (16 years) in Archaelogy/Library Science/History or equivalent from HEC recognized institution.
Age: Maximum 32 years, relaxable in case the candidate posseses exceptional qualification and experience.
Experience: At least three (03) years experience in relevant field.


4. Archives Conservationist

Key responsibilities of the incumbent will include, but not limited to, the following:

Examine, analyze, document and treatment of record.
Carry out condition examination of works to be treated.
Assist in the management and maintenance of the laboratory, including the preparation of chemical reagents and solutions. 
Demonstrate excellence in performing complex conservation treatments.
Working knowledge of chemical and material sciences.
Operate digital cameras and electronic resources in documenting treatment.
Devise conservation strategies based on knowledge of materials, chemical processes, and aesthetic and ethical considerations.
Knowledge of preservation standards for archival matting and housing, for environmental conditions.

Eligibility Criteria
Qualification: Masters or Bachelors Degree (16 years) in Chemistry or equivalent from HEC recognized institution.
Age: Maximum 32 years, relaxable in case the candidate posseses exceptional qualification and experience.
Experience: At least three (03) years of experience of conservation/restoration/preservation projects, with special reference to paper material in a Museum laboratory. Candidates having international work experience will be preferred.

5. Archive Research Specialist

Key responsibilities and competencies of the incumbent will include, but not limited to, the following:

Search for various sources of the records, archives, publications documents, and also the possible record generators in the past, in line with the objectives of the project.
Highlight important segments/sources of the records to the Project team, in-effect developing the stacking the records.
Advise the effective means of using the information available in the Archives, after basic survey/interviews of the end users. 
Generate reports/papers that may help the team in archiving the important material of SBP.
Assist the sister organizations including SBP to ensure the relevant records/data/source material is readily forthcoming.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification: Masters or Bachelors Degree (16 years) in Archaelogy/History/Library Science or equivalent from HEC recognized institution.
Age: Maximum 32 years, relaxable in case the candidate posseses exceptional qualification and experience.
Experience: At least three (03) years experience in relevant field.
6. Assistant Curator

Key responsibilities of the incumbent will include, but not limited to, the following:

Conduct research based on the museum collection, above to trace provenance of object in the Museum.
Prepare induce cards of coins/stamps/currency and other objects of museum, authentication, evaluation and categorization of museum object, and cataloguing of coins with its complete history like ruler, mind legend series , monograph etc.
Investigate technical analysis of each coin like weighing, thickness, diameter and metal etc. 
Catalogue coins with its complete history like ruler, mints, legend, series, monograph etc trace the missing links different dynasties to maintain chronological sequence in the history of coins, stamps, currency etc.
Provide authentication and verification to artifacts from studying different coins catalogues.
Develop descriptive labels of selected antiquities to be displayed in the museum.
Respond all queries communication regarding research and reference questions from Scholars, Students, General public etc.
Maintain the accepted national standards at the time of acquisition and processing of archival material.

Eligibility Criteria
Qualification: Masters or Bachelors Degree (16 years) in History/Archaeology or equivalent from HEC recognized institution.
Age: Maximum 32 years relaxable in case the candidate posseses exceptional qualification and experience.
Experience: At least three (03) years experience of Museum/ curatorial duties. The candidate should preferably have published research papers in reputed journals.

7. Modeler

Key responsibilities of the incumbent will include, but not limited to, the following:

Prepare replicas of antiquities and convincing reproductions of original objects/souvenir for the Museum (Shop). .
Proficiently workout on the electroplating of coins.
Craft dioramas depending as per need of the various events and exhibitions.
Implement various display techniques in a museum to ensure positive image is promoted.


Eligibility Criteria

Qualification: Masters or Bachelor Degree (16 years) in History/English/Communication/Designing/Graphics or equivalent from HEC recognized institution with from HEC recognized institution.
Age: Maximum 32 years, relaxable in case the candidate posseses exceptional qualification and experience..
Experience: At least three (03) years experience in preparation of replicas of antiquities, electroplating, and conservation and display techniques in a Museum.

8. Archive Lab Assistant

Key responsibilities of the incumbent will include, but not limited to, the following:

Inspect the material brought in the Archives Department, assessing and suggesting measures with regard to its treatment, preservation and the storage conditions.
Carry out periodic inspection and generate the report accordingly with regards to the condition of the records, and storage requirement in the Department.
Create entries of the papers/materials coming to the section and handing them over to the concerned sections.
Generate an Annual Report for the Paper Conservationist for the submission to the Director.


Eligibility Criteria

Qualification: Masters or Bachelors Degree (16 years) in Chemistry or equivalent from HEC recognized institution.
Age: Maximum 32 years, relaxable in case the candidate posseses exceptional qualification and experience.
Experience: At least three (03) years experience in relevant field.

Compensation Package

Market based negotiable salary package commensurate with the experience and qualification of the candidate. Other terms and condition as per contract agreement
