 BSD Circular Letter No. 08
July 10, 2003

The Presidents/CEOs
All Banks/ DFIs

Dear Sirs/Madam,

QUARTERLY REPORT OF CONDITION

In terms of BSD Circular No. 14 dated 12th June, 2002 all Banks/DFIs are required to submit to this department a Quarterly Report of Condition consisting of balance sheet, profit and loss account and notes thereof. As you are aware, Consumer and SMEs financing have gained significant importance and many banks have ventured into these sectors. In order to effectively monitor and analyze the financing given to these sectors, along-with others, it has been decided that sector-wise break up of total advances (before provision) i.e. Corporate Sector, SMEs, Agriculture Sector, and Consumer Financing etc., is to be incorporated in the Quarterly Report of Condition. Accordingly, the format of Quarterly Report of Condition has been revised.

All Banks/DFIs are advised to submit their Quarterly Report of Condition on the revised format with effect from the quarter ended June 30, 2003 and onwards. The Quarterly Report of Condition for the quarter ended June 30, 2003 may be submitted latest by 10th August 2003 and onwards within 30 days from the end of each calendar quarter. The revised format of the Quarterly Report of Condition is enclosed herewith. All other instructions on the subject given in the above-referred Circular will remain unchanged.

Please acknowledge receipt.
