Please refer to BSD Circular No.36 dated December 16, 2000 wherein the banks were advised to form all “banking transactions” conducted in the evening banking as part of their trial balance for the next working day.  Some of the banks have represented that they are facing problems in making cash transactions conducted during evening banking part of their trial balance for the next working day due to their system constraints.

2.         The request has been examined and it has been decided to allow the banks, at their discretion, to take all  “cash transactions only” conducted during evening banking as part of their trial balance for the same working day.  Such banks shall be required to give prior intimation to State Bank and shall not discontinue this practice without bringing it to the notice of State Bank.

3.         Other instructions issued vide aforesaid circular shall remain unchanged.
