All Banks/NBFIs,

Dear Sirs,

ANTI-TERRORISM (AMENDMENT) ORDINANCE, 2001

 


The Government of Pakistan in exercise of the powers conferred by sub section (1) of Section 11E of Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997 (XXVII), as amended, has declared Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LJ) and Sipah-e-Muhammad Pakistan (SMP) to be the Proscribed Organization for the purposes of the said Act.

2.Under sub section (1) of Section 11E, where any organization shall be proscribed, the Federal Government shall take the certain measures including the following:-

“Its accounts, if any, shall be frozen;”

3.         In view of above you are advised to take immediate steps to freeze the “accounts” of the proscribed organizations (Lashkar-e-Jhangvie (LJ) and Sipah-e-Muhammad Pakistan (SMP)) under intimation to all concerned.

4.         You are also advised to furnish a statement of frozen funds in the proforma given below so as to reach us by 31-8-2001.
