 BPRD Circular Letter No. 13
May 05, 2000

The Presidents/ Chief Executives,

All Banks/NBFIs,

Prohibition Of Correspondence With
Accused / Defendants

It has been reported by NAB that some banks/NBFIs are making direct correspondence with accused/defendents in cases that are under trial with the Accountability Court. This has attracted following remarks by the Prosecutor General Office (NAB):

"Please ensure that the Banks are duly informed that NO DIRECT communication with accused/defendant should be made. They must seek, advice of the Special Prosecutor in the relevant case. In case the prosecution is jeopardized we intend using section 31 of the NAB Ordinance against the Bank Officials."

You are, therefore, advised to bring the above instruction to the notice of all concerned for meticulous compliance.

Please acknowledge receipt.

Yours faithfully,
Sd/-
(KAZI ABDUL MUKTADIR)
Director
