ARRANGEMENTS FOR USE OF URDU LANGUAGE FOR OFFICIAL AND OTHER PURPOSE
In terms of Article 251 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the National language of Pakistan is Urdu, and arrangements shall be made for its being used for official and other purposes.
2. In this backdrop, the Honorable Prime Minister of Pakistan has approved an action plan as per the spirits of the constitutional requirements. The plan initially requires:
- To print all the forms, policies and other documents that are to be used by the general public both in Urdu and English.
- To display sign boards both in Urdu and English for the guidance of general public in banks premises .
3. In the light of above, all banks/DFIs/MFBs are advised to take immediate measures to implement the above action plan to comply with the provisions of Article 251 of the Constitution of Pakistan on urgent basis.
