The Presidents /Chief Executives,
All Banks/DFIs,

Dear Sirs /Madams,

Format for Reporting of Data of Unclaimed Deposits

Please refer to BPRD Circular Letter No.08 dated 21st March, 2007 in terms of which the Banks/DFIs are reporting the data of unclaimed deposits as per the given format.

2) It has now been decided that henceforth the Banks/DFIs shall provide the requisite data as per the ‘revised scheme of format’ enclosed as Annexure A, B, and C. The data for the year ended 2008, as per revised format, shall be reported to BP&RD latest by 30th June, 2009.

3) Banks/DFIs are required to submit the data on MS Excel data input sheet in soft as well as hard form, according to following instructions:

i. In annexure-A, record each account in one row without leaving a blank row but columns may be left blank in some cases.

ii. After completing annexure-A, summary of all the data should be given on cover sheet (i.e. Annexure-C) to match the total with amount surrendered in different cases.

iii. Soft data pertaining to annexure A and C should be provided in two separate Excel files on USB/ CD and may also be emailed on the following address.

4) Other instructions on the subject shall remain unchanged.
5) Any irrelevant or inconsistent data in violation of provision of law and laid down procedure for unclaimed deposits shall invoke the penal provision of law.
