2007 on the above subject.

Based on the representation received from the Banks, indicating
difficulties in meeting the extended deadline of March
31, 2008 for complying with the instructions issued vide
aforesaid circular letter, it has been decided to extend
the date for meeting the subject requirement up to June
30, 2008.
3. Banks/DFIs are advised to carry on aggressive public
campaign through print/ electronic media for creating
public awareness on requirement of CNIC for banking purposes.
Moreover, banks/DFIs are advised to contact the accountholders
individually who have not yet provided the attested copy
of CNIC. They are also required to provide information
on progress made on the subject on fortnightly basis,
within seven days of the close of each fortnight, as per
the following format.
