In terms of the procedure prescribed for import of arms and ammunition of Non-Prohibited Bore (NPB) Ministry of Commerce issues “Import Authorization” in favour of the authorized importers which are required to open LC / Contract with duly authorized bank branch. It has, however, been observed that some banks are not complying with the procedure prescribed by the Ministry of Commerce for import of arms and ammunition of NPB.

Banks are, therefore, advised to ensure that only the branch authorized by the Ministry of Commerce in their “Statute of Authorization” should open LC / Contract for import of arms and ammunition of NPB and adhere to all other instructions issued by the Ministry of Commerce in this regard.
