We are pleased to forward herewith the Press Note issued by Government of Pakistan, Ministry of Interior dated 27th May 2008 on the above subject and the decision taken by Cabinet to mitigate power shortage in the country in its meeting dated 14th May, 2008.

It has been decided by the Government of Pakistan that daylight saving will be adopted with effect from 1st June 2008 by advancing the clock by one hour. Also, all public sector organizations have been advised to switch their air conditioning off between 08:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

All the banks/DFIs are therefore advised to follow the instructions and implement the decisions accordingly.
