Dear Sirs / Madam,

Trade Policy 2007-08- Letters of Credit for Import of Precursor Chemicals

Please find enclosed Table I and II of the United Nations Convention against Illicit Traffic in Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances 1988 received from the Ministry of Narcotics Control regarding the above subject.

The Cabinet in its meeting held on 18th July, 2007 has directed in Case No. 89/10/2007 regarding Trade Policy 2007-2008 that NOC of the Ministry of Narcotics Control may be obtained for import of precursor chemicals.

Therefore, all banks are advised to ensure that letters of credit for the import of precursor chemicals as provided in Table I & II of the UN Convention against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances 1988 (copy enclosed) are opened only on production of NOC issued by the said Ministry.
